Skills and visitor services

On 10 February 2026, MRPO’s founder met Cambodia Tourism Association President Chhay Sivlin to discuss community training and sustainable use of natural resources.

The discussion covered hospitality skills, visitor experience and the possibility of a pilot community that could provide a model for wider work. ThinkAqua’s COMET update also highlights the meeting and CATA’s contribution to tourism training.

Connecting conservation and livelihoods

Community tourism brings together local knowledge, practical services and care for the places visitors come to experience. For MRPO, this is part of the work with coastal communities through COMET.

The six community profiles show how mangrove nurseries, boat trips and visitor facilities are developing across Prey Nob and Steung Hav.
