RESEARCH ACCOUNT
Research methods
MRPO Atlas connects maps, measurements and research accounts with their original sources. Each account identifies the places and periods studied, the methods used, the reported findings and the limits of those findings.
Checking a conclusion
Source checks compare statements and measurements with the cited pages, tables and figures. They distinguish publication dates from survey dates, check units and denominators, look for conflicting results, and identify reports that may reuse the same samples. Conclusions are narrowed where the source cannot support a broader claim. A source check is not a new field survey or confirmation that the original research is correct.
Review method
Research preparation and adversarial source checking use AI assistance. The project owner has approved this method; an independent human audit of the source checks has not been completed. Review histories, source versions and corrections are retained. This description applies across the library.
What the collection covers
The library includes journal articles, technical reports, surveys, data archives and contextual documents. Downloaded files, map features and reports are different units: none is automatically an independent study. The systematic search, full-library extraction and publication synthesis remain in progress. Individual accounts state which source components they cover.
Reading the map
Habitat polygons show mapped classes; study-area markers show where research took place. Neither establishes current condition without supporting measurements. An empty area means no evidence is displayed. Historical management boundaries require current legal sources before they can establish present restrictions.
